Scrambling to make lunch... a recipe.

Hot dog buns come in packs of 6. Hot dog weiners in packs of 8… What up with that?

Hot Dog Weiner Omelet

Dice or slice 2 hot dog wieners, fry 3 minutes in hot pan with a bit of oil or Pam. Add 1/2 cup of frozen peas. Fry some 2 minutes more to heat and dry the peas. Add 4 well blended eggs. Make a nice fritata (sp?) style omelet.

Serve with salad.

Feed two big kids or 4 little kids.

On days 10 and 11 all butterflies emerged and flew away. I gave 1 pupa to Kim who had spotted the caterpillars a few weeks ago.

Marie-Tangerine had fun with Miruna (turned 7), Sebastien, Evelyn, Stephanie and Jonathan at McDonald’s. Evalyn’s mom was Marie-Tangerine’s daycare educator when she was 3.

Day 2: Swallowtail Butterfly Larvea in Glass Conservatory (2 of 2)
On Day 1 (Night 1) the caterpillars ate all the host bush greenery collected within 1 hour. Since the host bush belongs to someone else, mom purchased commercial dill from the grocery store. Day 2, they are more concerned about feeling around their new environment.

Swallowtail Larvea Host Bush July 2007

We got a call from Kim who announced that there were beautiful caterpillars in the garden around her store. She requested pictures as they are her favorite colors. These are some of the pictures of the caterpillars on the host bush.

Yesterday after swimming at the Y we went to Toy’R'Us and bought a toy metal detector. It actually works quite well and we found a few uninteresting things: A drill bit, a golf ball, a lace flower and glass pebble and a raven feather and plenty of bottle caps and gum wrappers. Obviously most of those things were just easy to see while we were looking for metal. Nothing treasure-like yet.

Detecting metal with the new toy.

Today we found a small key and 2$… but again that was in plain view! Maybe we just need to pay more attention to where we walk.
